I don't feel being a style icon necessitates great outfits, sometimes I feel that raw energy is enough. That being said, Brody Dalle is one of my ultimate style icons. She dresses like any other gutter punk, but none quite look like nor sound like her. The things I'd do to have that voice.

Buckle Up.. For Safety

A couple days ago, I came to the realization that I had seversl black skinny belts in my closet. Seeing that I had already attached 2 together, I decided to go ahead and link all of them... this is what ensued.

I've also taken to wrapping the belt around my whole body, starting around the neck and down to the low hip. Yesterday, I wore a plain white tank dress and wrapped it around the entire body. Topped it off with a braided Undercover blazer and went off to the office.

So, I'm leaning towards keeping the Junya sweater now, even though I was trying to be good with my finances. Thanks for all the enabling!

I'm a fan of pairing leopard print and red plaid, so this picture obviously appeals to me.


I've never wanted yeti boots ever, but I'm starting to reconsider....I like how it balances the outfit.


First thought: Great outfit! Second Thought: How the hell does he see with his hair like that? I can't even deal with bangs.

Also, this weekend, a good friend from NYC visited. We went vintage shopping around Long Beach, and I lost control. If I decide not to be lazy, I'll post pictures of my purchases.

Lately, I've been finding men's editorials much more engaging than the women's.

Okay, lastly. I bought this Junya Watanabe top several weeks ago. Probably wasn't the smartest purchase, but I can't bare the thought of parting with it. *Sigh* Perhaps it would be smarter to return it......

Hudson Furniture Inc - Part 2

Hudson Furniture Inc also makes amazing chandeliers. The first two are my favorites.

Hudson Furniture Inc - Part 1

I started getting free issues of Metropolitan Home magazine home today, and found an ad for this furniture company. Hudson Furniture Inc, is a NYC based company specializing in furniture made from salved & wind/storm damaged trees (none of the trees are harvested from old growth forests). This basically means that their furniture is made from trees that need to be removed in order to save surrounding trees, homes, etc.

Hudson Furniture works with the tree's natural forms and grains by utilizing traditional joinery techniques and hand rubbed oil finishes.

Here are a few of my favorites.
















Hudson is also "New York's only repository for legally harvested petrified wood". I'm obsessed with these end tables/stools.
